OKI International School, Kandana Branch was inaugurated in the year 2002 at Morawatte, Nagoda, Kandana and at present it is housed in a spacious building complex owned by the school at 173/8, Hapugoda, Kandana since September 2016.

Our school comprises of 600 to 700 teachers on the tutorial staff with a student population of nearly 600. The school runs classes from Preschool to Advanced level commerce. The ecological environment that provides sustainability for the students and all staff gives an aesthetic serenity as well that help the students to excel in their studies both in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

It is a thing to be pondered that the entire purpose of education is not to restrict itself to imparting book knowledge only. During the pandemic situation our OKI Network kept a new step in opening up the platform to students for the digital school. All subject knowledge was imported through online sessions and proved to be successful. Even the students were given opportunity to show case their talents in the form of practicals, speeches, singing, artwork and etc. The students participated even in calendar events such as Christmas carols, Thai Pongal online.

An enormous outbreak to the digital field was set up by the network and we are proud to be a part and parcel of the OKI family.

Established in 2004, with two teachers and five students, OKI International School- Biyagama Branch has come on a long and steady journey till 2021 and I’m proud to say that we are now blessed with best 45 teachers and more than 600 bright students.

It is no wonder that 2021 will be a very challenging academic year for students as well as teachers.
We are still in the middle of health risks due to COVID-19. As a community, country and a world, we survived through unexpected pandemic in 2020 and still most of us have not recovered from the hardships faced during that time.

Yet, as the principal of OKI International School Biyagama, i strongly believe it is the high time for us to be more vigilant of the surrounding, get prepared for the unexpected and share our empathy for each other.
In this year, 2021, we must work together as one team and empower ourselves as teachers, students and parents.

As the Principal I feel incredibly privileged and honored to be part of the OKI International School Community. OKI International school initially started at Kottikawatte on 14th September 2006. and shifted to our own spacious attractive new building situated at Raggahawatte, Kaduwela on 10th September 2018.

Our educational moral purpose is to ensure all students at OKI Kaduwela receive a high-quality education in which they can achieve success for the future.

With a current teaching staff of around 45 and an enrolment of approximately 600 children, divided into 27 classes from Pre-school to Grade 11, excellent programs are provided across all areas of the curriculum, with a focus on Literacy and Numeracy. In addition, we deliver specialist programs in Arts, Dancing , Music, Library, Physical Education, Robotics, and special classes for Literacy and Numeracy Support for the students who need extra support.

Great emphasis is placed on the essential learning areas of Maths and English where we strive to develop each child's skills to their maximum individual potential. We also recognise the importance of providing a comprehensive curriculum with Humanities, Science, the Arts and Health all being incorporated into classroom programs focusing on student engagement and critical and creative thinking.

OKI places great importance on the integration of digital technologies into all curriculum areas, with computers, online lessons, students’ portal and with Smart boards in teaching by ensuring that students have the opportunity to work with relevant technology.

Academic learning and growth are our bottom line, yet we also understand that educating students means being attentive to the “whole child” and caring about their social and emotional well-being.

Having 20 years of experiences in the field of education, the name of OKI, which is brighten the area of Negombo, for its students to have world class of education in their home limits. Moulding children in world class citizens are not an easy task but OKI is pioneer for that and has proved during the said period.
