The growing need to combine IT skills with the general curriculum was realized by the establishment of OKI International School of IT as a specialist institution to provide computing studies for our students. The OKI International School of IT became the first institute of its kind in Wattala providing courses leading to recognized international qualifications in IT.

Arithmetical skills are the foundation to learn Mathematics and later Statistics. A few decades ago Arithmetic was taught at school using the most conventional methods, and the majority of students found Mathematics hard to learn. Using ABACUS learning Arithmetic became simpler and enjoyable. Children who started to learn ABACUS not only made a drastic change in their outlook on Mathematics but also made an overall advancement in the spectrum of all subjects they learn in school. At present ABACUS teaching is confined to the main school Wattala. Plans are underway to spread the teaching of ABACUS to all the branches.

The main objective of this program is to improve the students' understanding of the concepts of how STEM field knowledge and skill can be utilized in problem-solving situations. Studies have repeatedly shown that students enrolled in learning Mathematics, Sciences, IT and any other academic areas altogether using Robotics educational material have a lot more interest in usual school subjects and have gone on to excel in their careers. The program is a unique "hands-on" curriculum to cover computer programming and robotics with STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
