This program started in the year 2000 by the Denuma Lama Sarana Welfare Society, for selected children from the Wattala area with the recommendation of the Principals of the participating schools.
Free extra classes are conducted and at the end of the year, school books, bags, shoes etc. are distributed among those children. We also maintain a nursery for 22 needy children at Kithunu Centre Hekitta in addition to the above.

Bethel's Home Nayakakanda (for disabled children) the monthly rent for the premises being paid by OKI.
Scholarships for 150 children
An annual year-end party (Christmas party) is organized every year for the children of five orphanages

Other welfare activities which OKI takes great pride in extending
More and more Social & Corporate services will be conducted for the underprivileged schools in Wattala, developing infrastructure facilities of the schools, such as providing drinking water facility, repairing toilets, renovating dilapidated buildings, constructing libraries.
A Day Care Centre for elders in Wattala area is operated which is held at Wattala church premises.
Dhamma School - The school is sponsoring to pay salaries for the Teachers of English Medium Dahampasala held at Hendala Purana RajaMaha Viharaya.
